The PEC–KKATT Joint Venture has been awarded a 24-month contract to continue supervising the Design and Build works for Kira–Matugga Road and the improvement of five junctions under the Ministry of Works and Transport. This award is an exciting opportunity and reflects the Client’s confidence in the JV’s ability to deliver quality supervision services. The current progress of the project is promising, with several sections already paved and swamp areas treated with box culverts.

As lead partner, PEC will provide technical leadership and coordinate supervision activities to ensure the contractor, Chongqing International Construction Corporation (CICO), completes the project within the remaining time and to the required specifications. The JV will also ensure compliance with environmental, social, health, and safety standards to minimise risks and maximise community benefits.
This road is key to improving traffic flow, safety, and economic growth in Greater Kampala, forming part of the city’s outer-ring network.
